Away Missions

Ship Event

Saturday, February 16th: The ship held its Anniversary Lunch to celebrate the fourth anniversary of our commissioning as a full-fledged chapter in Starfleet. As always, we gathered at a Dave and Busters, as we did for our very first meeting, and this time we descended on the one at US 75 (aka Central Expressway) and Walnut Hill Lane. Special thanks to all of our visitors, especially the crew of the USS Ark Angel who braved traffic and a blown tire to join us.

Monthly Meeting Notice

Sunday, February 10th: Our monthly meeting was held the Sunday before the fourth anniversary of our commissioning back on February 14, 2004! We met at our regular meeting place, the Half Price Books location at 5803 E. Northwest Highway in Dallas, and discussed upcoming events, ship finances (they're good), and the social calendar. Next up is our annual commissioning anniversary dinner at Dave & Busters. All are welcome.

Ship Event

Sunday, February 3rd: The crew gathered at Cherie's home in The Colony for our annual Super Bowl party! We shared food, mocked commercials, and watch the big game between the Giants and the Patriots. (Too bad, Pats fans.) It was a potluck and the crew brought all manner of delightful snack, goodies, and delicious chili. Next year, maybe we'll get to see the 'Boys in the Big Game. (Maybe.)

Monthly Meeting Notice

Sunday, January 13th: Our first monthly meeting of 2008 started at 5:00pm, just after the end of the Dallas Comic Con. We gathered at the Richardson Civic Center then went as a group to Humperdink's only to discover that because of the Cowboys' game the place was packed and no group tables were available. So we went to plan B: Genghis Grill just up the road. We feasted on Mongolian BBQ and still got to watch the game on all those flat panel TVs. (When did they get those, anyway?) Along with the food, fun, and fellowship we planned events for the months ahead starting with our Super Bowl party.

Dallas Comic Con 8

Saturday, January 12th, and Sunday, January 13th: Much of the crew spent the weekend at the Richardson Civic Center for Dallas Comic Con 10 in Richardson, Texas. It was fun to see Ray Park again and it was awesome to meet Missi Pyle from Galaxy Quest plus all the comics legends on hand. We served on staff, as volunteers, and worked our recruiting table to spread the word about Starfleet.

Ship Event

Saturday, December 15th: After an afternoon of partying and revelry, some of the crew (Robyn, Liz, Ed, Kira, Chanda, and Jack) headed south to the studios of KERA-TV, public television for North Texas. We were there to support their airings of British science fiction, especially the new series of Doctor Who. The station provided Ethiopean and Italian food while we answered phones for a bit over 4 hours during their pledge drive. Oh, and there was a special in-studio appearance by a Dalek. Photos coming soon!

Ship Event

Saturday, December 15th: The crew gathered at 710 Bluebonnet Drive in Allen, Texas, home of Jan and Allen Agee, for our fifth annual Christmas party. The CO brought a Smithfield ham, Kris brought her trademark orange fluff, Dan S. made mac and cheese with chocolate milk, and the rest of the crew brought many side dishes, homemade desserts, cheeses, and other tasty treats to share. We did our traditional "Ferengi Gift Exchange" and all 16 people that participated took home a cool Christmas treat. Thanks again to Jan and Allen (and their feline masters) for their hospitality.

Monthly Meeting Notice

Sunday, December 9th: Our monthly meeting was held at our regular meeting place, the Half Price Books location on Northwest Highway in Dallas. (map) We discussed the crew Christmas party, Region Three Retreat, recent ship activities, plus upcoming meetings and events.
